What Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and password (encrypted).
Assessment Data
Your responses to the caregiving assessment, including information about care needs, challenges, and support systems. We recommend using first names only and avoiding full names, addresses, or other identifying details.
Usage Data
Information about how you use our services, such as features accessed and time spent, to improve our platform. This data is anonymized and aggregated.
About the Person You Care For
CaremapAI asks you questions about someone else, usually a parent. They are not the account holder, and in most cases they have not agreed to this themselves.
We think that is a normal part of being a caregiver: you already hold this knowledge, and writing it down is what lets you act on it. But it deserves saying out loud.
Two things follow. Use first names only, and leave out addresses, health card numbers, and other identifying details. And where you can, tell the person you care for that you are using a tool to help you keep track. Many families find that conversation easier than expected.

How We Protect Your Data
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information:
- •Encryption of data in transit using HTTPS/TLS
- •Secure password storage using industry-standard hashing
- •Data stored on servers in Canada, with encrypted automated backups
- •Access to your data limited to what is needed to run the service
Note: CaremapAI is in beta and built by a small team. We take reasonable care with your information, but no system is completely secure. Two things we want to be plain about: our database is not currently encrypted at rest, though our backups are, and we plan to change this as we grow. And we recommend avoiding full names, addresses, or other identifying details in free-text fields.
Your Rights & Choices
You have the right to:

- •Export your data in a portable format
- •Delete your account, your assessments, and your care records. We keep a minimal, anonymized record that an account existed, for security and service integrity.
